These 4 Products Have Improved My Kid’s Bathroom

What’s something you have in the kid’s bathroom that makes your daily life either easier or more organized? Here’s my top 4 products in my kid’s bathroom that I would buy again and that I’ve been known to recommend these to my friends too!

  1. Automatic Soap Dispenser
  2. Toothpaste Dispenser & Wall Mounted Toothbrush Holder
  3. Convertible Toilet Seat
  4. No Hook Shower Curtain

1. Automatic Soap Dispenser

I’d like to introduce you to Mr. Waddles, our resident penguin who helps the kids wash their hands. Mr. Waddles is actually an automatic soap dispenser. We fill it with this antibacterial hand soap. Before Mr. Waddles came to live with us, I had a soap dispenser problem: The kids soap dispenser kept ending up on the floor. Which means soap would end up on the floor. Or the kids would remove the lid and fill the soap dispenser up with water. Which means a watery soap mixture was all over the counter. Plus the kids would either use too much soap or not enough. I was tired of the mess. If you know the struggle, you understand. So I went on an Amazon hunt to find an automatic soap dispenser for the kids bathroom.

I landed on this cute blue penguin and we lovingly named him “Mr. Waddles.” With Mr. Waddles in our home, I know the kids are washing their hands because I hear them say, “Mr. Waddles, can I please have some soap?” Then after I hear the sound of the automatic dispenser, I hear their cute little voices saying, “Thank you Mr. Waddles.” Bonus? The kids are practicing manners!

What I like about this soap dispenser is that Mr. Waddles gives out just the right amount of soap. He can hold a lot of soap in his tummy so I definitely don’t feel like I’m refilling it all the time. Since it’s rechargeable, I don’t have to worry about batteries – and the charge lasts a long time. I also love how this soap dispenser uses foaming soap. The kids enjoy washing their hands more because it feels like they’re playing with bubbles. This was such a win that my friend, Rachel actually bought the same one since her 2 year old son enjoyed it at our house so much!

2. Toothpaste Dispenser + Toothbrush Holder

Toothpaste Dispenser

Next on my list of my top four products I have in my bathroom that I would buy again is this toothpaste dispenser! The objective here was to stop having toothpaste all over the counter, the sink and the floor. Also, it was also a goal to prevent the toothpaste tube from falling on the floor. Or into the garbage. Or into the toilet. Sounds reasonable, right? I went searching for automatic toothpaste dispensers and discovered that really – these are not automatic. But they are toothpaste dispensers!

The way it works is you hang the toothpaste dispenser on your wall with the provided command strip. You put the tube of toothpaste in the top and then you push on the lever with you toothbrush. It’s that simple!

I promised to be honest and so to be honest here – the toothpaste dispenser can get covered in toothpaste. But it is a better situation than I had before. I can easily dismantle the toothpaste dispenser and wipe it clean every so often when I need to. I would buy this again for three reasons:

  • It gives my kids greater independence – they can get toothpaste themselves now!
  • It keeps the counters, sink and floors cleaner
  • I always know where the toothpaste tube is located

For us, this has been a win.

Wall Mounted Toothbrush Holder

I love how this toothbrush holder mounts on the wall so easily. No drills. No screws. Just a quick command strip that is included with the product. The holder gets the toothbrushes off the counter. Unlike my old toothbrush holders, this doesn’t get slimy on the bottom (please tell me I’m not the only one who had this problem). It doesn’t have to be knocked over, causing all of the toothbrushes to fall out. The toothbrush holder can’t be moved by tiny fingers. It stays right where it needs to be. And so do the toothbrushes. If something happened to our toothbrush holder, especially given how inexpensive this one is, I’d totally buy this product again.

3. Convertible Toilet Seat

Well friends, when you think of a “convertible seat” images of red sports cars zoom through your brain. Unless, of course, you’re a Mama Bear 😀 . To us, a convertible seat could mean a high chair that turns into a booster seat or in this case, a potty seat that seats little bums or adult sized ones. What I love about this seat is that there is no rushing involved. Before I had this seat, my toddler would bellow, “Potty! Potty!” and I’d drop everything I was doing, fling myself towards his little body and sprint towards the bathroom. I’d fling up the lid to the toilet yet fumble over getting the removable potty seat on – all while praying “please make it in time, please make it in time.” Can you relate?

Then I found this toilet seat.

Side note, if you ever asked me what I would be writing about one day, I would not have thought I’d be writing about a toilet seat. But here we are. If it’s been helpful to me, I imagine it may prove helpful to you as well. So back to the potty talk.

What I appreciate is that this one toilet seat accommodates for adults (or bigger kids) and one for little kids. There is no need to store an extra potty seat in your bathroom. Kids can quickly learn to put the little seat down and grown ups can adjust for themselves as well. It’s just as easy to clean as your regular toilet seat and we find it convenient. It makes our lives easier and for that, we are grateful.

4. No Hook Shower Curtain

I ordered and returned so many shower curtains before landing on this one. The feature I love the most about this one is that it does not require shower hooks. That means when you want to wash the curtain, you can easily unhook it and throw it in the washing machine. I’ve done that several times. Each time, I am relieved I don’t have to take down all of the hooks, weave them through open holes and string them back onto the curtain rod. It really is so easy!

What’s even more is that the shower liner has snaps! When you see that it doesn’t look quite as white as it once was, you just unsnap the liner, throw it in the wash and voila! Comes out good as new and it’s so simple to snap back on once it’s clean.

After all of my time scouring the internet for the best shower curtain for our bathroom, I’m glad I landed on this one.
