I Love Jesus, My Husband, My Children And A Great Cup Of Coffee
I am not a morning person – a hot cup of coffee is a must have in my world. And let’s be honest here – if a sweet treat doesn’t have chocolate, it is not considered a dessert. In my house, “Holly Friendly” is a common phrase and it simply means it’s safe for me to eat since I can’t have milk. It’s the cutest when my kids say it.
Speaking of my kids, I’m a stay-at-home mom to three lovely kids, affectionally referred to as my “Quiglets.” I know what you’re thinking, but “This Mama Pig’s Home” didn’t have quite the same ring to it. My son is six years old and my two daughters are four years old and two years old. I’m also a pastor’s wife; I’ve been married to my handsome husband since 2013.
Here’s a fun fact about my background: I graduated from Messiah University in three and a half years. You may be interested in knowing that I received a Bachelors degree in Human Development and Family Sciences with a minor in Pre-Marriage and Family Therapy. Whew! That’s a mouthful. While in school, I created a six-hour seminar focused on strengthening marriages for missionary families. I presented my seminar, took my final exams in December and just weeks later, I caught a flight to Argentina. In Argentina, I volunteered on a team as a missionary, leading children’s programs. I lived there for four months before coming back to the States.
Once back home, I worked for one year in a residential school for students who are Deaf, which strengthened my skills in American Sign Language. After that, I worked in private school settings with students who have special needs. I’m grateful to have worked alongside Special Education Teachers, Speech and Language Pathologists, Occupational Therapists, Physical Therapists and Board Certified Behavioral Analysts. Leading programs created by these professionals prepped me for motherhood in ways I didn’t know I needed prepped.
I’ve gleaned a thing or two over the past few years and I’m here to share my experiences in motherhood, faith and cultivating a home with you. My hope is to inspire, motivate and cheer you on in motherhood and beyond. I’m so glad you’re visiting and I hope you find an encouraging word that lifts your spirits or a product that makes your days a little bit easier. Please make yourself at home and stay as long as you like!
