I’m not a decisive person. I’ve analyzed this attribute about myself and have come to this conclusion: I don’t want to accept the negative impact decisions have. Waste money? No thanks. Look bad? Uh-uh. Miss out on an opportunity? FOMO anyone? Meanwhile, I can be found wasting time ruminating on decisions. I was recently trying to decide which kids sleeping bag I should purchase for my oldest kids and it took me a few DAYS to make the purchase! Face Palm.
The advantages to being indecisive is that it means I’m thorough. I do my homework researching information and products. I’m a critical thinker. This also means that it stands out to me when I am decisive on something. Usually, those categories come with either a strong conviction or with life experience.
When I sat down to decide if I should start a blog, I had three main reasons why I decided to go for it. Think of this as that on conversation that happens when you’re dating and your dad says to your boyfriend, “What are your intentions with my daughter?” Well, you don’t even have to ask me. I’ll spell out my intentions for blogging right now.
- Share
I’m here to share my experiences with you. Experiences in faith, motherhood, parenting, home décor and other areas of life. When I am passionate about a product, I could be a spokesperson for them. When I learn a new life hack, my life just got easier – and I want that for you too. I appreciate learning from other people’s experiences in potty training, sibling rivalry, how to make a house into a home and the like. I’m learning in motherhood, just like you. I hope sharing bits of my life story may benefit you the way hearing from others has blessed me too. - Earn
It may seem off putting to some to come right out and say this, but I’m also here to earn an income. To me, it is honest and it isn’t worth hiding. I love being a stay-at-home mom and I love spending time with my family. I also want to contribute financially to my family. I hope blogging gives me the flexibility to be present with my husband and kids while also providing for us financially. Plus, if I can share information with you that I have found helpful in my life, then to me – it’s a win-win situation! - Motivate
Being a stay-at-home mom is unique because you are your own boss and only employee. External motivation pushes me to accomplish more in a positive way. I have joked to my husband that we should have friends over for dinner every week because then our house would be immaculate! Joking aside, this blog will be extra motivation for me to carry out home projects, whether it’s with the kids or a new way to organize a closet. My ultimate motivation is from the Lord. I firmly believe that God works through what we put in our lives. My hope is that God will use this blog as a tool in my life to motivate me in motherhood, faith and creating a home.
There you have it. This indecisive girl decided to start a blog. I’ll be typing out little bits of my heart in hopes that it inspires, motivates, and cheers you on in motherhood. Cheers to making a good decision!
